News: Providence Bloc and Fidelas Constans Clash with Northern Coalition(dot) in G-5EN2

G-5EN2 system, Providence region. On the 13th of June, at 19:30 EVE Standard Time, forces belonging to Fidelas Constans [FCON] and Providence Bloc met Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] in the system for a costly brawl that saw the destruction of many ships.

The brawl began when [NC] forces deployed Sovereignty Blockade Units in the 9-F0B2 system, prompting Providence Bloc to form in order to take them down. Providence Bloc formed what has recently became its signature doctrine, a 130 pilot Naga Battlecruiser fleet.

[NC] forces for their part had a 100 pilot Loki Strategic Cruiser fleet, with Triage Archon Carriers in reserve.

However, before the two forces could meet in the system, a [FCON] Drake Battlecruiser fleet, estimated at 90 pilots, with a Triage Nidhoggur Carrier in reserve, appeared in the G-5EN2 system. The force held on the Assah gate in the system.

The [NC] Fleet Commander decided to tackle the [FCON] first rather than wait for Providence Bloc to show up, a situation that may box up the [NC] fleet and potentially decimate it. Thus the [NC] fleet warped to the Assah gate, engaging the [FCON] head on.

A bloody brawl developed, as Lokis and Drakes were volleyed off, the fighting fierce and unforgiving as the two forces collided in a close range carnage. This forced both sides to bring in their reserve Triage Carriers. With the addition of 2 more Triage Archons, bringing the total Triage support for [NC] to 3, the [NC] fleet managed to stabilize.

With the [NC] fleet able to tank the incoming damage, a decision was made to bring in a Titan and remove the enemy Triage, while continuing to mop up the rest of the [FCON] forces. Yet at this point a cynosural beacon was lit close to the [NC] force and Providence Bloc bridged in their fleet to the fight.

With the amazing damage output of 90 tier 3 Battlecruisers on the field, Lokis were once more volleyed. [FCON] was not idle either, and re-shipped to Ishtar Heavy Assault Cruisers, returning to the field and adding its pressure on the [NC] fleet.

being able to volley off Lokis, Providence Bloc and [FCON] decided to switch their focus to the Triage Carriers, who one by one, succumbed to the damage output and were destroyed to the last. At the same time though, the [NC] Lokis were able to destroy many Ishtars and Nagas in return. And yet, with their Triage support decimated, the [NC] force had choice but to de-aggress and jump back to Low Security space, abandoning the field.

The G-5EN2 Fight from [NC]’s Loki PoV

This allowed Providence Bloc to return to the 9-F0B2 system and remove the hostile Sovereignty Blockade Units, [FCON] following suit and helping in the process. With 2 of the Sovereignty Blockade Units down, the system was secured, yet the fighting was far from over.

[NC] returned to the field, bridging to the G-5EN2 system on the 9-F0B2 gate a Tempest Fleet Issue Battleship fleet, 87 pilots with no Triage Carrier support. Providence Bloc and [FCON] positioned themselves on the other side, waiting for [NC] to jump into them.

Finally, the [NC] fleet jumped in and a quick brutal skirmish developed on the G-5EN2 gate in the system. At first, the combined [FCON] and Providence Bloc damage output managed to destroy several Battleships, but as the [NC] Logistics team pulled together, the damage lessened, and the fleet managed to tank the incoming fire, which dwindled as Providence Bloc lost more and more Battlecruisers, and in the end was forced to retreat.

[FCON] attempted to fight a bit longer, trying to kite outside the range of the Battleships, but after a few bruising losses decided to retreat as well, leaving the field to [NC]. Having gotten the fight they were looking for, [NC] forces extracted safely, ending large scale hostilities in the region.

Battle report for the G-5EN2 and 9-F0B2 systems can be found here.

All told the systems saw less than 400 pilots in local, with Time Dilation not reported as an issue in the fighting. From start to finish, the battle with its various parts lasted 90 minutes in total.

Providence Bloc lost 82 ships for 8.4 Bil ISK damage, [FCON] suffering 94 losses, including 1 Carrier, for 11.2 Bil ISK damage while [NC] lost 54 ships, 3 of which were Triage Carriers, for a whooping 25.6 Bil ISK.

Providence Bloc managed to secure the main objective of protecting their sovereignty of 9-F0B2, while [NC] was able to get the fight it wanted, as its Fleet Commander stated that even if Providence Bloc had failed to remove the Sovereignty Blockade Units, [NC] would not have attempted to contest the system. As for [FCON], they managed once more to successfully third party a fight.

The EVE Scribe will keep you posted on further developments in the region.

News: G-5EN2 Falls Without a Fight

G-5EN2 system, Providence region. On the 11th of June the Station fell to Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] forces, marking it the second system to be captured by [NC] in their conflict with Providence Bloc.

The station was taken by a Capital force that included according to sources, no less than 60 Slowcats (Archon Carriers) and 20 Super Carriers. Providence Bloc, unable to counter such an overwhelming force and witnessing this display for previous timers in the system, chose not to form. Thus the system was captured without a fight.

The Territorial Claim Unit’s killmail can be found here.

G-5EN2 is one of the 4 pathways connecting the region to Empire space. With it and the Y-MPWL system in the hands of [NC], the pressure on the Providence Bloc logistics may be felt soon. This also raises a concern that the KBP7-G system will be targeted next, as fighting occurred over it in the past between the two entities.

It remains to be seen what will happen, but one thing for certain, [NC]’s facade of a “Fun War” has been completely shattered following last week’s aggressive push. [NC] has brought only Slowcat fleets and Super Carriers to all the timers, making it obvious it was not looking for a fight, but a complete victory.

Perhaps the string of humiliating defeats and inability to find a definite counter to Providence Bloc’s Naga Battlecruiser doctrine have finally taken their toll on the [NC] leadership. Regardless, the name of [NC] has lost much of its merit in the last few weeks. By the time the new sovereignty changes will be implemented, it may lose all of its value.

As the fighting continues, the EVE Scribe will keep you posted on further developments.

News: Northern Coalition(dot) Cannot Be Stopped, G-5EN2 in Danger of Falling

G-5EN2 system, Providence region. On the 9th of June, at 19:00 EVE Standard Time, Providence Bloc attempted to defend the Infrastructure Hub shield reinforcement timer from Northern Coalition(dot) [NC]’s attack, with no success.

Providence Bloc mobilized 250 pilots in a Naga Battlecruiser fleet, with a Stealth Bomber wing for support. The fleet rushed to the system only to see [NC] drop no less than 80 Slowcats (Archon Carriers) and 20 Super Carriers on the Infrastructure Hub, pushing it into its armor reinforcement mode within a single minute!

Unable to offer any resistance, Providence Bloc forces returned to their staging system, re-shipping to a Rupture Cruiser fleet, downsized to 140 pilots.

The force went back to the G-5EN2 system, after hearing of both a Fidelas Constans [FCON] Thorax Cruiser gang, approximately 70 pilots and an [NC] Muninn Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet, estimated at 30 pilots.

The [NC] force was reluctant to engage the Providence Bloc fleet, so a fight was arranged with the [FCON] fleet, the arena moved to the neighboring system of Assah, in the Derelik region, due to Bombers Bar presence in the G-5EN2 system.

A short battle between the two forces erupted on the third planet’s Costums Office as the two forces warped in close range of each other. However Providence Bloc dominated the fight and annihilated the [FCON] force, as it was able to out range it, suffering very minor losses in return. The [FCON] Fleet Commander, a former member of The Volition Cult [VOLT], was allowed to leave the field with his ship intact as a show of good sportsmanship.

This was followed by a quick battle with the [NC] Muninn fleet which seemed to gain confidence and warped at range of the Providence Bloc fleet. The Providence Bloc Fleet Commander decided to warp the fleet to the G-5EN2 gate at zero, hoping to draw the [NC] fleet closer.

This turned out to work quite well, as the [NC] fleet landed at range of the gate, and in a distance that allowed Providence Bloc to volley the Muninns, quickly decimating them. The [NC] force realized quickly that it was in a disadvantage and chose to quickly retreat.

With no more hostiles left to fight, Providence Bloc returned to their staging system, ending large scale hostilities for the night.

Battle report for the Assah system can be found here.

The Assah system saw less than 300 pilots at the peak of the fighting, with Time Dilation not reported. The fighting on its two parts lasted 30 minutes overall.

Providence Bloc lost 10 ships for only a quarter of a billion ISK. [FCON] lost 58 ships for 1.7 Bil ISK of damage while [NC] lost 12 ships, for a total of 2.4 Bil ISK.

[NC] seems to have given up on attempting to fight or counter Providence Bloc’s Battlecruiser fleets and committed instead to grinding sovereignty, using their overwhelming Capital and Super Capital advantage. As for the reason for this, it still remains a mystery, as Providence Bloc has shown a willingness to fight, to the detriment of [NC] at times.

Regardless, [NC] continues to besiege the G-5EN2 system, and at the current rate it appears the system may fall by the end of the week. The EVE Scribe will keep you informed of any new developments.

News: Northern Coalition(dot) Pushes Station Timer in G-5EN2

G-5EN2 system, Providence Bloc. On the 8th of June 19:00 EVE Standard Time, Providence Bloc forces attempted to defend the first Station timer in the system against Northern Coalition(dot) [NC]’s aggressive push, unsuccessfully.

Providence Bloc brought a 170 pilot Naga Battlecruiser fleet to the system just as the Station was exiting its shield reinforcement timer. [NC] jumped in a Capital force on the Station grid, 50 pilots mainly in Slowcats (Archon Carriers) with a few assorted Dreadnoughts, sub-capital support and 6 Super Carriers.

Providence Bloc had no intention of engaging that force, instead focusing on removing the Sovereignty Blockade Unit situated on the 9-F0B2 gate. Fidelas Constans [FCON] arrived to the system as well, bringing a 60 pilot Ishtar Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet. The force attempted to help Providence Bloc by tackling the other Sovereignty Blockade Unit on the Assah gate.

However, Providence Bloc was harassed by a Bombers Bar (An NPSI community dedicated to the usage of Covert Ops ships) Stealth Bomber fleet. The Stealth Bombers managed to land a successful bombing run from three different angles, resulting in a quarter of the Providence Bloc fleet decimated.

To make things worse, [NC] brought in more Super Carriers and warped them on top of the Sovereignty Blockade Units, repairing them and driving away both Providence Bloc and [FCON] fleets.

Unable to respond, Providence Bloc was forced to retreat, allowing [NC] to push the Station into the armor reinforcement timer.

Battle report for the G-5EN2 system can be found here.

All told, the system saw approximately 400 pilots in local, with Time Dilation not reported as a major issue. The battle lasted 30 minutes.

Providence Bloc lost 59 ships, for a total of 7 Bil ISK of damage.

It seems that once again [NC] chose to push forward with little regard to “Fun Fights”. As Providence Bloc lacks the ability to counter escalate, the next timers may see a repeat of the events transcribed here.

The presence of Bombers Bar on the field may prove to further complicate future fights and only increase the already staggering odds Providence Bloc is fighting against.

Regardless, as the fight for G-5EN2 progresses, the EVE Scribe will keep you posted.

News: Heavy Fighting Continues in and around Providence

Providence region. On the night of the 7th of June, heavy fighting occurred in and around the G-5EN2 system, as Providence Bloc continues to clash with Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] over the fate of the system.

The first clash was between Providence Bloc and [NC] in G-5EN2. [NC] once again deployed Sovereignty Blockade Units in the system. Providence Bloc answered the provocation with a 200 pilot Naga Battlecruiser fleet, with Stealth Bomber and E-war Frigate support.

The force made its way to the besieged system only to find that [NC] brought an entire Slowcat (Archon Carriers) fleet with some assorted Dreadnoughts, approximately 80 pilots. Unable to fight such fleet composition, Providence Bloc declined to engage, allowing the force to quickly reinforce both the Infrastructure Hub and the Station in the system. It is obvious that [NC] were not looking for a fight over the timer, considering the force brought.

Instead, the Providence Bloc fleet made its way to the Assah system in the Derelik region, where Fidelas Constans [FCON] forces were busy engaging a Wrecked(dot) [REKT] Apocalypse Navy Issue Battleship fleet with Triage Carrier support on the Nakah gate.

[FCON] had a 70 pilot Ishtar Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet, and were engaged with [REKT] forces who had approximately 40 pilots including 2 Archon Carriers for Triage support. [FCON] forces were further augmented by Circle-Of-Two [CO2] Talwar Destroyer gang that arrived through a wormhole and a a small [FCON] Harpy Assault Frigate gang, estimated at 20 pilots.

The two sides exchange fire on the Nakah gate, with [FCON] commanders informing Providence Bloc of the engagement. Since [REKT] are allied with [NC], Providence Bloc decided to engage the [REKT] force and help [FCON] take down the Triage Carriers. The Providence Bloc fleet warped in range of the [REKT] force and put its considerable damage output on the Carriers. One after the other they went down in rapid succession.

With their Logistics gone, the Battleships were forced to disengage and jump out, retreating. With the [REKT] forces gone, both Providence Bloc and [FCON] left the field, choosing not to engage each other. Providence Bloc made way back to their staging system, only to be dropped on by [NC] in the 4B-NQN system in Providence, on the 9-F0B2 gate.

[NC] brought a 60 pilot Harpy fleet, and engaged the Providence Bloc ships. Though managing to take down quite a few ships, Providence Bloc managed to burn out of interdiction probes and return fire, causing some losses to the [NC] fleet. The fleet then warped to the 9UY4-H system and jumped through, pursued by the [NC] force.

However, by the time the [NC] force caught up again, the Providence Bloc fleet had burned a good way from the 4B-NQN gate, its guns at optimal range. A short brutal exchange convinced the [NC] force to disengage, allowing Providence Bloc to reach its staging system and stand the fleet down.

Battle report for the Assah system can be found here.
Battle report for the 4B-NQN system can be found here.

In the first battle, the system of Assah saw around 400 pilots in local, with Time Dilation not reported as a contributing factor to the fighting. The engagement went for approximately 20 minutes.

The second battle saw an estimated 300 pilots in local, with Time Dilation again not reported as a factor. The engagement lasted around 10 minutes in total.

All told, [NC] and their allies lost 9.4 Bil ISK in the 2 engagements, including 2 Carriers, 7 Battleships and 13 assorted ships. Providence Bloc lost 19 ships, mainly Battlecruisers for nearly 2 Bil ISK of damages. [FCON] and their allies lost 27 ships, culminating in 3 Bil ISK of damages.

It seems that [NC] has decided to seriously push for the G-5EN2 system, either hoping the pressure of losing sovereignty of the system will force Providence Bloc to bring a more “Serious” doctrine that it could contend with, or punish Providence Bloc for the string of embarrassing defeats it suffered by its hands.

Regardless, it looks like [NC] has decided to reveal its true colors after the proclamation that they were here for “Fun fights”. The EVE Scribe will keep you posted as the situation unfolds.

News: Pandemic Legion Clashes Head On With Providence Bloc in G-5EN2

G-5EN2 system, Providence region. On the 7th of May, 20:00 EVE Standard Time, forces belonging to Pandemic Legion and Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] clashed head on with Providence Bloc who were defending the Infrastructure Hub in the system, resulting in a massive fight.

In the previous reinforcement timer, Providence Bloc brought an overwhelming force to the field, prompting [NC] to abstain from the fight. This time, taking note of the numbers brought previously, Pandemic Legion was contacted and brought along to reinforce the attackers.

Pandemic Legion brought a 160 pilot Tempest Fleet Issue Battleship fleet, with 5 Triage Archon Carriers. [NC] brought a Proteus Strategic Cruiser fleet, 110 pilots strong with Triage Carrier support as well.

Providence Bloc brought a 200 pilot strong Ishtar Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet with Goku Bomber support, around 70 pilots big and a regular Stealth Bomber wing. All told Providence Bloc had close to 300 pilots in the system.

Providence Bloc was further reinforced by forces belonging to the Curse Russians, also known as the Red Menace Coalition, who brought an approximately 70 pilot large Ishtar fleet as well.

The fighting began when [NC] forces skirmished the Red Menace Ishtar fleet over the 9-F0B2 gate in the G-5EN2 system. While no significant exchanges were made, Providence Bloc forces entered the system soon after, just as Pandemic Legion arrived on the 9-F0B2 gate as well, at a perch. This forced Providence Bloc to anchor up immediately and start the main event.

At this point the two sides started to exchange blows, with Providence Bloc focusing fire on the Pandemic Legion ships, while the Red Menace fleet warped out. The sheer amount of damage output from the two sides was overwhelming. Battleships and Ishtars melted before Logistics pilots could even lock them, which was not helped by the high amount of Time Dilation present.

As the two forces continued to battle, [NC] forces joined Pandemic Legion and contributed their fire as well. With split damage across the Providence Bloc fleet, Providence Bloc was hemorrhaging ships. The Goku Bomber fleet in particular suffered heavy losses and was forced to leave the system for a while.

At one point, one of the Triage Archons belonging to Pandemic Legion was almost destroyed, as the Ishtars rained punishment on it, managing to survive with only a sliver of hull remaining as it exited Triage mode in the nick of time, allowing it to receive remote repaires from its sister Carriers.

At this point the Red Menace fleet warped back on field, but was dragged by the interdiction fields active, landing on top of the Pandemic Legion Battleships. It lost several ships as it tried to burn out. However, they did not contribute much to the fighting altogether.

Screenshot of the Battle Taken by Yulai Federation Network

The battle raged on for a while, but as Providence Bloc was losing more and more mainline ships, its damage output reduced, it was unable to break either the Battleships nor the Strategic Cruisers’ tank.

As a last gambit, Providence Bloc sent their Logistics to the Infrastructure Hub, in order to repair it enough to reach 26%, so the shield reinforcement timer will reset. At the same time, the Ishtar fleet remained on field, distracting the enemy forces.

This however, turned out to be futile, as [NC] brought in their Super Capital fleet to reinforce the Infrastructure Hub, pushing it into its second reinforcement timer while the two sides kept battling.

With the Infrastructure Hub once again reinforced and half the fleet destroyed, Providence Bloc forces sounded the retreat. Red Menace Coalition also took the opportunity to withdraw, leaving the field to [NC] and Pandemic Legion to hold.

Having won the battle, Pandemic Legion and [NC] extracted from the system without further incident.

Battle report for the G-5EN2 system can be found here.
Alternative battle report can be found here.

During the peak of the fighting, the system hosted 713 pilots, with Time Dilation being a constant factor, effecting the battle, capping around 20% and remaining that high for the majority of the fight. The battle took approximately a full hour before dying down.

As killboards are still synchronizing, it is impossible to tell the exact number of losses. However, so far it seems that Providence Bloc lost the majority of the ships, with 88 ships lost for a total of 18 Bil ISK of damages. Red Menace Coalition suffered light losses, only 6 ships for approximately 600 Mil ISK damages. As for [NC] and Pandemic Legion, they lost 26 ships, for a total of 8 Bil ISK in damages, the majority of which was inflicted to Pandemic Legion.

With the conflict escalating further, as more allies and neutral coalitions are sucked into the fray, it becomes very clear that G-5EN2 will see many more pilots lose their lives fighting over it. While losing the battle, it seems morale in Providence is still high, as many see the fact [NC] had to call upon Pandemic Legion for support a clear sign of the former’s inability to take them head on. Thus, they are still confident in their ability to win the war.

As Providence Bloc continues to resist the jackboot of [NC], further fighting is expected, as both the Station and the Infrastructure Hub come out of reinforced mode in the next few days. The EVE Scribe will keep you posted on the events as they unfurl.

News: G-5EN2 Infrastructure Hub Saved, Northern Coalition(dot) Absents from the Fight

G-5EN2 system, Providence region. On the 5th of May, 19:00 EVE Standard Time, Providence Bloc rallied to save the system’s Infrastructure Hub, resulting in a huge show of force.

Providence Bloc brought no less than 500 pilots to the system, divided into 4 fleets: A full Ishtar Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet (256 pilots), a secondary Ishtar fleet, some 60 pilots strong. A 150 pilot Goku Bomber fleet and a regular Stealth Bomber wing.

These forces were further bolstered by Spectre Fleet and the Curse Russians, who brought more Ishtars into the mix.

Local peaked at 700 pilots in the G-5EN2 system, all on Providence Bloc’s side, prompting Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] to absent from the fight, as they could not hope to contend with such a huge force, short of dropping their Super Capital fleet. This allowed Providence Bloc and their allies to quickly dismantle the Sovereignty Blockade Units stationed at the gates, effectively securing the system once more.

After repairing the Infrastructure Hub, Providence Bloc and their allies returned to their staging systems, having accomplished their main goal.

The only incidents registered were:

A [NC] Stealth Bomber wing which harassed the Providence Bloc fleet as they were removing Sovereignty Blockade Units. The bombing run cost Providence 33 Ishtars and 47 Stealth Bombers, as well as assorted Frigates, for a total for 10 Bil ISK of damages.

Battle report can be found here.

An attempt to pipe bomb the Providence Bloc fleet as it made its way back to staging, which ultimately failed twice, with Providence Bloc sustaining minor losses only and dispatching a few of the Battleships before continuing on.

Battle report for the first attempt can be found here.
Battle report for the second attempt can be found here.

All told not much action was had, but instead a message sent, that Providence Bloc can and will field large numbers to defend its sovereignty. So long as the conflict was limited to deploying Sovereignty Blockade Units, Providence Bloc was happy to oblige [NC] and provide limited engagements. However, when it came to its own sovereignty, Providence Bloc made it very clear it will not tolerate any threat.

One interesting fact is the show of force made by the Curse Russians in aid of Providence Bloc. The Curse Russians have a long score to settle with [NC], and in coming to reinforce Providence Bloc, are sending a message to [NC] that old grudges have not been forgotten. This can potentioally prove detrimental to [NC]’s continued deployment in the region, especially if the Curse Russians decide to pursue their grudge even further.

Providence Bloc made its move, now its up to [NC] to answer it. Will it escalate the conflict further, or will it attempt a return to the previous dynamic? Only time will tell.

News: Providence Bloc Suffers Defeat in G-5EN2, Station Reinforced

G-5EN2 system, Providence region. On the 3rd of May, at 19:00 EVE Standard Time, Providence Bloc and Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] clashed once more in the system, in a bloody fight that continued the escalation in the conflict fought between the two.

As what has become a routine, [NC] forces deployed Sovereignty Blockade Units in the G-5EN2 system, prompting Providence Bloc to form up and take them down.

Providence Bloc brought 170 pilots in 2 fleets, a Proteus\Legion Strategic Cruiser fleet, estimated at a 100 pilots, and a Goku bomber fleet, around 50 ships strong. Added to that was a regular Stealth Bomber wing.

The fleet raced its way to the G-5EN2 system, where forces belonging to [NC] were already situated on the station, reinforcing it. [NC] brought a 100 pilot fleet, of Tempest Fleet Issue Battleships, with 5 Triage Archon Carriers.

Providence Bloc’s forces decided not to engage the [NC] fleet at its own terms, and instead focused their attention on the Sovereignty Blockade Unit deployed on the 9-F0B2 gate. This prompted the [NC] fleet to warp to the gate, getting caught in the interdiction field deployed by Providence Bloc and starting the fight.

The beginning of the battle saw a savage exchange, as Tempest Fleet Issues and Strategic Cruisers were volleyed off one by one. After a while though, things started to go badly for Providence Bloc. A bad call caused both the Goku and the Strategic Cruiser fleet to enter the thick of the [NC] fleet. Though this made tracking hard for the Tempest Fleet Issues, it also made things considerably worse for Providence Bloc, as they were hit by their own bomber wing.

Receiving a full hit from Void bombs, many of the Strategic Cruisers lost their capacitor entirely. Unable to turn on modules or tank, they were mercilessly cut down by the Tempest Fleet Issues, who could still cycle guns as they were not dependent on energy.

Smartbombing Tempest Fleet Issues, specifically fitted to counter Providence Bloc’s usage of Stealth Bombers, did a great job of clearing many of Providence Bloc’s Goku bombers, effectively cutting down Providence E-war and damage output, as well as removing a serious threat to the [NC] fleet.

Faced with heavy losses and inability to sustain further fighting, Providence Bloc retreated back to their staging, allowing [NC] to continue and reinforce the station, signaling another escalation in the war between the two entities.

Once done, [NC] extracted from the system without further incident.

Video of the Fight from Providence Bloc’s Perspective, Courtesy of Mangraa Dementia.

Battle report for the G-5EN2 system can be found here.

Local peaked at 320 pilots at the thick of the fighting, with Time Dilation making an appearance, spiking to 60% at one point, but otherwise having no large noticeable effect. The fight lasted 17 minutes.

Providence Bloc forces suffered the brunt of the losses in this battle, losing 85 ships, for a total damage of 13.6 Bil ISK. [NC] fared much better compared to previous fights, losing 18 ships only, for a total of 5.8 Bil ISK in damages.

Up until this point, Providence Bloc have been handling the conflict quite well, able to stand up against [NC] when it came to sub-capital fleet engagements. Though possibly a temporary setback, the fight did show that [NC] were willing to escalate further, considering what an expensive and powerful doctrine Tempest Fleet Issue is.

The question is, what can Providence Bloc do to counter this new threat, considering the Super Capital umbrella [NC] enjoys and their willingness to use it. I guess once the station exits reinforced mode we shall see their answer.

News: Skirmishes Continue in G-5EN2

G-5EN2 system, Providence region. On the 30th of April, at 20:30 EVE Standard Time, another battle was fought over the system between forces of Providence Bloc and Northern Coalition(dot) [NC], becoming another link in a long line of engagements between the two entities.

Sovereignty Blockade Units were once more deployed by [NC] in the system of G-5EN2, forcing Providence Bloc to hastily form up in order to take them down. 4 fleets were formed, with the main being a 130 pilot Proteus Strategic Cruiser fleet, supported by a Naga Battlecruiser wing, 40 pilots big, a Goku\E-war Frigate fleet and a regular Stealth Bomber wing. All told Providence Bloc had around 220 pilots, who promptly made their way to the besieged system.

[NC] for its part had a 90 Loki Strategic Cruiser fleet waiting in the system. As Providence Bloc forces entered through the 9-F0B2 system, the Loki fleet warped at its optimal range from their in-gate, starting the fight.

At first, Providence Bloc took a beating, as their fleets were scrambling to anchor up and position themselves. But after the first few minutes, the exchange started to look more equal, with [NC] losing Logistics ships and Lokis to the combined firepower of Providence Bloc.

As the Providence Bloc fleets continued to rain fire on the [NC] fleet, several attempts were made to take the Naga fleet out of commission. But after failed warp ins and losing more Lokis who got tackled by the main Proteus fleet, as well as suffering harassment from the Providence Bloc bombers, [NC] had no choice but to concede the field. Thus the Loki fleet disengaged, retreating back to Low Security space.

This allowed Providence Bloc the opportunity to take down the hostile Sovereignty Blockade Units. Having secured the system once more, Providence Bloc forces returned to their staging system without further incident.

Battle report for the G-5EN2 system can be found here.

All told the engagement was quite quick and low key compared to previous battles. Lasting less than 20 minutes, with local never exceeding 330 pilots at the peak of fighting. Time Dilation was not reported.

Providence Bloc lost 31 ships in the fighting, mostly support ships, for a total of 3 Bil ISK of damages. [NC] lost 20 ships, for a total of 7 Bil ISK.

As [NC] continues to adjust and re-build its strength after the Fountain-Delve war, many more engagements are expected to be fought in the Providence region, as it proves to still be the most popular place for large fleet action.

News: Massive Fleet Fight in G-5EN2 System

Disclaimer: Due to the chaotic nature of the fight, and the technical
difficulties experienced, many of the figures written in this article
are approximations only. The article was written using first hand
knowledge, interviews and video footage from multiple sources. Some
inaccuracies may still occur.

G-5EN2 system, Providence region. On the 25th of April, at 20:00 EVE Standard Time, no less than 6 fleets clashed in the system, in what would become one of the most infamous battles in the region’s history.

The fight began when Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] forces removed the defensive Sovereignty Blockade Units in the system, replacing them with their own, as well as reinforcing key infrastructure in the system.

This led Providence Bloc to field 3 fleets, a 150 pilot Nightmare Battleship fleet, a Goku Bomber fleet, 70 pilots strong and a Zealot Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet, 50 pilots large.

Against this force [NC] brought a Loki Strategic Cruiser fleet, 150 pilots strong, which settled on the 9-F0B2 gate in the system, Providence Bloc’s only means of entry.

The two forces collided head on, on the 9-F0B2 gate, as Providence Bloc jumped into the Loki fleet. In the first exchange of fire the Loki fleet suffered losses while the mainline ships of the Nightmare fleet managed to tank relatively easy. With their Logistic ships breaking, [NC] lit a cynosural beacon and brought forth 2 Triage Archons as well as 10 tracking Dreadnoughts, in order to counter the battleships.

At this point a CFC Harpy fleet entered the fray, some 80 pilots large, warping straight into the middle of the fight and engaging the [NC] Lokis. Providence Bloc decided to retaliate and bring their own Triage support, in the form of 2 Chimera Carriers, and the battle continued in earnest. Providence Bloc showing the power of its Nightmare fleet, as the first Triage Archon for [NC] was nearly destroyed, the second already in armor and the tracking Dreadnoughts next on the list.

As local continued to rise, with such entities as The Gorgon Empire [-GE-] and RvB Ganked entering the system, and the unexpected power and tanking ability of the Providence Bloc Nightmare fleet, the [NC] fleet commanders decided to drop in their Super Capital fleet. Onto the field were brought no less than 80 Titans and Motherships, who promptly destroyed the Providence Bloc’s Chimeras, and turned their attention to the Nightmares themselves.

At this point [-GE-] Machariel Battleship fleet showed up on grid, some 60 pilots big, choosing to perch above the gate and not committing to the fight while an RvB Ganked Dominix Battleship fleet, around 170 pilots strong, warped straight into the Super Capital blob, coming to the aid of Providence Bloc and starting to brawl with the [NC] forces.

Providence Bloc continued to fight, realizing the hopelessness of their situation, deciding to attempt and take down as many enemy Capitals as possible, thus focusing their attention on the remaining Archon and tracking Dreadnoughts, who one by one succumbed to the dwindling damage.

As the fight continued, Pandemic Legion came into the system as well, bridging behind the lines, and coming from the 9-F0B2 system, jumping straight into the raging battle on the gate. Pandemic Legion brought a 100 pilot strong Protues\Legion Strategic Cruiser fleet, and set its sights on the Nightmare fleet.

By this point, the Providence Bloc fleet was in tatters. Though it managed to snag a few more Dreadoughts and a second Archon, it could not sustain the incoming damage, especially with the addition of the Pandemic Legion fleet on top of it. An attempt was made to de-aggress on the 9-F0B2 gate and extract the remaining Battleships from the system.

With Providence Bloc forces out of the system, [NC] and Pandemic Legion’s attention now turned to the RvB Ganked and [-GE-] fleets which were still in the system. The two forces were hounded across the system, with a couple of bruising skirmishes taking place in safe spots and around the Assah gate. However it became clear the [-GE-] and RvB Ganked forces were not willing to fight, choosing to extract to Low Security space instead.

A chase attempt was made by Pandemic Legion after the retreating RvB Ganked fleet down to the Nakah system in Derelik region. Yet, only a few stragglers were caught, as the RvB Ganked fleet docked in the system’s stations, refusing to fight Pandemic Legion. [-GE-] and the CFC fleets both managed to extract as well, leaving [NC] to hold the field.

After [NC] withdrew its forces, Providence Bloc took down the Sovereignty Blockade Units and replaced it with their own, allowing them to keep the system.

Battle report for the G-5EN2 system can be found here (Still missing killmails).

The fight proved to be one of the costliest and largest battles fought in recent EVE history. No less than 900 pilots occupied the system at the peak of the fighting, with Time Dilation been an ever present factor, influencing the outcome of the battle greatly as it peaked to 10% and swung wildly as the battle ebbed and flowed.

It is estimated that no less than 400 ships were lost, at an estimated cost of 70 – 100 Bil ISK in damages. However the true figures may be higher, as the killboards have not finished synchronizing at the time of writing.

Regardless, it is plain to see that Providence Bloc suffered a devastating defeat, though gained a moral victory by forcing [NC] to deploy its Super Capital fleet in order to win the fight. With these ever escalating skirmishes over the G-5EN2 system, one may wonder if a peak was reached, or is a second B-R5RB waiting around the corner? Time will tell.
