News: Two The Kadeshi Motherships Destroyed in Delve

7-K6UE system, Delve region. On the morning of the 19th of November, two The Kadeshi [THOR] Motherships were destroyed by a combined Pandemic Legion [-10.0] and Lazerhawks [LZHX] fleet.

The incident started when a Lazerhawks gang found a wormhole exit in the N8D9-Z system. Roaming around for targets, they noticed an Aeon Mothership near a tower in the 7-K6UE system warping to the UEXO-Z gate and jumping out. An attempt was made to de-cloak the ship, but had no success.

Disheartened, the Lazerhawks fleet made its way back towards their wormhole when a straggler reported sighting three Archon Carriers on the same gate as before. At this point the Lazerhawks fleet suspected a trap, as several Motherships and a Titan were spotted in a tower in [THOR] staging system. Another problem was the low number of pilots Lazerhawks had online at the time, only twenty-six in total.

Thus it was decided to call for reinforcements. A Pandemic Legion Fleet Commander, Apothne, was reached through mutual channels and given the information. After a short discussion within the Pandemic Legion, the decision was made to burn towards the system. An Ishtar Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet was hastily formed, initially thirty pilots large, and burned towards the target system.

Lazerhawks for their part kept the Archons engaged while Pandemic Legion’s fleet made its way, unable to break the tank of the Carriers but keeping them tackled. Several times the Archons jumped back and forth between the 7-K6UE and UEXO-Z systems, only to find themselves held down by the Lazerhawks’ Interdictors. Finally, one of the Archons lit a Cynosural beacon in the UEXO-Z system on the 7-K6UE gate, and onto the field jumped ten Motherships, accompanied by an escort fleet of assorted ships bridged in alongside them.

By this point though, Pandemic Legion’s forces had arrived to the system and warped to grid, quickly joining Lazerhawks in clearing away the [THOR] escort ships before switching damage to the Archons, who were by now sitting alongside the Motherships on the 7-K6UE gate.

With the increased damage, the Archons began to break. As the first Archon was destroyed, the rest of the fleet quickly jumped through the gate with the Motherships in tow in order to escape. However, they were caught once more by the interdiction probes deployed by Lazerhawks, who anticipated this attempt at flight.

Both Pandemic Legion and Lazerhawks forces pursued the fleeing [THOR] fleet into the 7-K6UE system, disposing of what had remained of the initial escort fleet before changing targets and returning once more to the Archons. The two remaining Archons were continuously bumped away from each other, to prevent their usage of Remote Repairers, thus severely reducing their ability to tank the incoming damage. All the while the Motherships were kept under a thick blanket of interdiction probes, in order to prevent any attempt to escape.

With the two Archons dispatched, the fleet turned its full attention to the Motherships, however, [THOR] reinforcements finally arrived to the system in the form of a thirty pilot Tengu Strategic Cruiser fleet. By this point Pandemic Legion’s numbers were swelling, as news of the tackled Motherships made way and the Tengu fleet was quickly de-fanged, losing half of its force in the first few minutes. Then, a decision was made to switch damage to the tackled Motherships and their Fighter Bomber wings, who were chewing through the Interdictors and Heavy Interdictors that were brought to the field in order to escape.

The Aeon was targeted first and quickly succumbed to the Pandemic Legion\Lazerhawks volleys. With the destruction of the rescue fleet and the Aeon, it seems that panic spread amongst the [THOR] Mothership pilots, who quickly tried to burn away from the interdiction probes and re-fit their ships to boost their energy in order to jump out of the system. The result though, was reduced tank, which made them extremely easy to destroy, as the Nyx Mothership which followed can attest to.

All the while [THOR] and Pandemic Legion reinforcements continued to pour into the system, increasing the death toll significantly. By now, Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] managed to organize a relief force. As the Pandemic Legion\Lazerhawks fleet put a second Nyx into deep armor, ten [NC] Archons jumped to a perch above the UEXO-Z gate. They then proceeded to warp down and quickly remove the Cynosural Inhibitors deployed by Pandemic Legion and Lazerhawks, which then allowed them to jump in an even larger Archon fleet to the middle of the battlefield.

Faced with these overwhelming odds, both Pandemic Legion and Lazerhawks chose to withdraw from the system, conceding the field to [NC] as they cleared tackle and burnt home. This allowed the remaining eight [THOR] Motherships to extract safely.

Battle report for the 7-K6UE system can be found here.

The butcher’s bill stands at a hundred and thirteen ships destroyed for ninety-four billion ISK in damages. [THOR] lost seventy-five ships, represented in ninety billion ISK damages. Pandemic Legion and Lazerhawks lost thirty-three ships altogether, mostly Interdictors and Heavy Interdictors, for only four billion ISK in comparison.

All told, this engagement can certainly be viewed as a bait attempt gone horribly wrong, with [THOR] leaving the fight with a noticeable black eye, while Pandemic Legion and Lazerhawks walked home maybe with bruised knuckled, but a lot of satisfaction as well.

News: Aeon Class Mothership Salvaged from an Offline Tower in 4O-ZRI

4O-ZRI System, Outer Passage region. On the 25th of September, 23:40 EVE Standard Time, an Aeon class Mothership was liberated from an offline Tower in the system, with a Wyvern class Mothership perishing in the process.

The amazing story began when Malromen, of Conquering Darkness Corporation, was exploring the connections to his Corporation’s Wormhole system. One of these connections led to the P-8PDJ system in Outer Passage. Being a former member of the Corporation that rented that system, Infinite Technologies, Malromen and a few other pilots decided to scout the system. Finding two offline towers, one with a Supercapital Ship Assembly Array and one with an X-Large Ship Maintenance Array, they hoped they might be lucky and liberate some assets, netting themselves some easy ISK.

After destroying both modules, which proved to be empty, the scouting party was ready to return home empty handed, when Malromen remembered that the system next door, 4O-ZRI, was also rented by Infinite Technologies. With the precedent of the two offline Towers in P-8PDJ fresh in his mind, Malromen decided to try his luck once more in 4O-ZRI. Finding another offline Tower with an X-Large Ship Maintenance Array, he wasted no time in destroying it, hoping to hit gold.

It seems his patience was rewarded when the wreck was discovered to contain an intact Aeon class Mothership, along side much of its fitting, including many Faction and Dead Space modules. Quickly overcoming his amazement, Malromen burned a pilot into the system capable of flying the ship, and jumped it out to safety before any hostiles could come in and stumble upon it. The loot itself was taken by Malromen himself.

Evacuating back to his Wormhole, Malromen decided to sell the ship itself as he had no use for it. Thus. a buyer was secretly contacted, and an exchange took place in an undisclosed system. Only the ship hull itself was sold, under market prices, at fifteen billion ISK. Finding a buyer for the ship did not prove as hard as Marlomen imagined, though making sure that it was a genuine offer and not an attempt at a scam was admittedly harder.

All in all, Malromen walked out of the 4O-ZRI system with twenty billion ISK in ships and modules, and another twenty-four billion ISK in damages caused, as the Wyvern that was also kept in the Ship Maintenance Array did not survive its destruction and perished with it. All told, Infinite Technologies lost forty-four billion ISK.

On his part, Malromen wished to make clear that no foul play was involved in the entire affair. All the Towers found were offline, and no spies were used in order to get access to the ships or the modules. This was merely a coincidence on his part, of finding a Wormhole connection to the system and being a former member of said Corporation, and not an elaborate attempt at revenge. The entire affair can be largely attributed to bad management on the part of Infinite Technologies Corporation.

News: Black Legion(dot) Nyx class Mothership Destroyed in the M2-CF1 System

M2-CF1 System, Syndicate region. On the 14th of July, 22:13 EVE Standard Time, a Nyx class Mothership belonging to Black Legion(dot) Alliance was destroyed by forces belonging to Cynosural Field Theory(dot) Alliance.

The Nyx was deployed as part of a fleet engaging a lone Dreadnaught class Capital ship reinforcing a Planetary Customs Office in the system. However, as it turns out, the Dreadnaught was merely acting as bait, as an Interceptor class Frigate, equipped with a Cynosural Field Generator landed on top of the Black Legion(dot) force, and lit a cynosural beacon, allowing a large capital fleet, belonging to Cynosural Field Theory(dot) Alliance to jump in.

Unfortunately, the Nyx class Mothership was separated from the main fleet, thus unable to re-fit and change its configuration from applying damage to tanking. This made it impossible for it to resist the onslaught of the Cynosural Field Theory(dot) Capital fleet, which numbered seven Dreadnaught, four Carriers and three Mothership class Capital ships. Even though the Black Legion(dot) fleet managed to destroy the Heavy Interdictor class Cruisers that tackled the ship, the Nyx was still bubbled by an Interdictor class Destroyer, thus unable to warp away into safety.

An attempt to bring in reinforcements was made by Black Legion(dot), but could not be carried out as Cynosural Field Theory(dot) forces quickly dispatched the Strategic Cruiser that lit the Cynosural beacon, effectively sealing the fate of the Nyx, which was subsequently destroyed.

Though the Nyx was flying under the flag of Black Legion(dot) Alliance, the entire operation was held by just one Corporation in said Alliance, Tempest Legion, who frequently deploys to the Syndicate region, which accounts for both the lateness and the small scale of the response.

This also explains why though Black Legion(dot) Alliance is deployed in Aridia, that such an event occurred in the Syndicate region to begin with.

News: Two Evictus(dot) Motherships Destroyed in the Tastela System [Updated]

Tastela system, Domain region. On the 13th of July, 19:06 EVE Standard Time, two Mothership class Capital ships belonging to Evictus(dot) Alliance were destroyed by a Pandemic Legion Alliance fleet.

The two Motherships, a Nyx and Wyvern class ships, were spotted in the system by Pandemic Legion and its allies, who investigated the Cynosural beacon to which the two jumped to, only to discover the ships. Rushing Heavy Interdictor class ships unto the field, fitted with Cynosural Field generators, the initial force managed to tackle the two Motherships, who did not manage to warp to the safety of a nearby friendly tower in time, and lit their own Cynosural beacons, allowing a large force of Mothership and Carrier class Capital ships to jump into the system and destroy the ships.

While the Nyx class Mothership was quickly dispatched by the Pandemic Legion’s initial force, the Wyvern class Mothership was kept tackled for a few more minutes, in order to allow reinforcements to reach the system in time and participate in its destruction, as evident by a video detailing the entire event.

By the end of the battle, more than fifty Mothership class Capital ships were present on the field. Reports from the Pandemic Legion side claim the entire affair was organized ad hoc in response to the discovery of the two ships.

Update
Gibguard, of FireStar Inc, Evictus Alliance Executor had the following response “Evictus were deploying outside of Providence, we had successfully deployed the bulk of our Supers. As is becoming increasingly the norm within EVE one or other of the big blobs (in this case Pandemic Legion) decided to hot dropped two late arrivals while they were traveling. As they say shit happens, both pilots have had the loses SRP’d we learn and move on”

Breaking News: Two Northern CoalitionDot Nyx Class Motherships Destroyed in GE-8JV

Two Nyx class Motherships were destroyed tonight by an Against ALL Authorities fleet in the GE-8JV system, Catch region. The Nyx pilots, Bobmon of Burning Napalm and Valeu Auleu of Enterprise Estonia, Northern CoalitionDot Alliance, were targeting capital ships using the Cynosural Beacon Array anchored at a tower in the system. Since the system itself is considered a primary hub for Against ALL Authorities, it sees heavy traffic, something the Nyx pilots counted on, as Valeu Auleu had operated in the system the day before, destroying an Archon class carrier and an Anshar class Jump Freighter at two separate engagements.

However, information of Valeu Auleu’s operation had already spread amongst the pilots of Against ALL Authorities Alliance, prompting the Capsuleers of Novatech Armada, one of the member Corporations, to try and lay a trap for the Nyx pilot.

Keeping the operation a secret from the rest of the Alliance, in fear that a spy might expose the trap, Xbox360clock organized a bait and tackle team to catch the enemy Nyx. Planning ahead, Xbox360clock made sure to have a Mobile Cynosural Inhibitor ready to deploy, which would later prove to be the undoing of the Nyx pilots. An Archon, piloted by Haley Anstian, was set as bait, and told to use the beacon in the hopes of luring the Nyx pilot. However, the Nyx pilot did not bite.

Fearing that a second attempt so soon and by the same pilot would raise the Nyx pilot’s suspicions, Allianc was called to use his Thanatos class carrier instead, after a fifteen minute break. This time, the Nyx pilot took the bait, hook, line and sinker and had the carrier tackled with his neutral alt in the system, who promptly lit a cynosural beacon for the Nyx.

Only, to the surprise of the pilots of Novatech Armada, not one Mothership jumped into the system, but two! Quickly regaining composure, Xbox360clock de-cloaked his Sabre class interdictor, bubbled the two Motherships and had an Armageddon and Dominix class battleships fitted with heavy neutralizers tackle the ships and lit a cynosural beacon while he himself anchored the Mobile Cynosural Inhibitor.

As dreadnaughts jumped in to apply damage, the members of Novatech Armada started pinging the Alliance lead Fleet Commanders in order for them to quickly form reinforcement fleets, while spamming the news at every channel they had. The owner of the tower, R17a, was contacted as well, in order to man the tower’s guns and help apply damage.

At the same time, Northern CoalitionDot was forming up a “Slowcat” fleet in order to save the tackled Motherships. However, due to the Nyx pilots’ error, the Mobile Cynosural Inhibitor was not visible on their overview, effectively making them oblivious to the fact that they could not light a cynosural beacon. Without the ability to lit a cynosural beacon, the relief fleet could not jump in and save the tackled Motherships, guaranteeing their doom.

With the reinforcement fleet led by ShadowandLight of Black Aces, Against ALL Authorities Alliance, arriving on field, the two Motherships went down fast, and the two pilots unceremoniously podded. According to zKillboard, the total worth of the two ships lost is approximately fifty-four billion ISK, added to that are the two pods, totaling at two point five billion ISK each. Altogether, Northern CoalitionDot was dealt almost sixty billion ISK in damages.

Northern CoalitionDot has not given any official reply, however, SpiritOne, of Burning Napalm, Northern CoalitionDot Alliance, went on record to say that The Scanner, the main account whom Valeu Auleu belongs to, will be booted from his corporation. Bobmon, however, will not face any re-precautions for his loss due to the fact that The Scanner was the pilot in charge at the time.

When asked what was Northern CoalitionDot’s stance on the losses, after it was discovered it was a trap, SpiritOne claimed the pilots knew it of the trap, and chose to go in anyway. However, he did give props to the RUS Coalition for quickly forming.

Intercepted internal communications of Northern CoalitionDot Alliance reveal that the operation in question was not sanctioned by the Alliance, thus the pilots will not be receiving replacements for their losses:

Vince Draken: oh
Vince Draken: im not replacing them
Vince Draken: so

Vince Draken: Your are a hero as long as you get away. Once caught, you get ridiculed*

So far, the Nyx pilots have not been available for comment

The EVE Scribe will keep you posted of further developments
