News: HERO Coalition Fleet Destroyed in V-3YG7

V-3YG7 system, Catch region. On the 14th of March, at 18:00 EVE Standard Time, a HERO Coalition fleet was annihilated en route to capture the FAT-6P system.

The HERO Coalition fleet, a Tengu Strategic Cruiser fleet of around 190 pilots strong, un-docked from the GE-8JV station, HERO Coalition’s staging system, and warped to the V-3YG7 Gate, in order to travel down the pipe and reach the FAT-6P system, which HERO Coalition has been attempting to conquer from Northern Coalition(dot).

Pandemic Legion, though, was aware of the fleet’s goal and had Interdictors prepared in advance. Once the Tengu fleet jumped through the V-3YG7 gate, the Interdictors jumped after them, launching interdiction probes and trapping them on the GE-8JV gate. This allowed Pandemic Legion to catch up to them with a 90 pilot Proteus Strategic Cruiser fleet, which bridged into the GE-8JV system and quickly followed through.

The two fleets engaged immediately at close range, with the Tengus attempting to pull range but being webbed down by the Proteus. The Pandemic Legion fleet slowly chipped away at the strength of the HERO Coalition fleet, able to tank the incoming damage. However, due to a miscommunication, Triage Carriers were brought to the field on Pandemic Legion’s side.

HERO Coalition attempted to do away with the Triage Carriers, by bringing in 3 Dreadnoughts on top of them. As they were attempting to destroy the Archon Carriers, Pandemic Legion’s Interdictors had the Dreadnoughts bubbled and a cynosural beacon was lit, ushering in a Pandemic Legion super-capital wing, of several Titans and Mothership support.

The newly arrived force quickly dispatched the HERO capitals, while at the same time, the Tengu fleet attempted to de-aggress and jump back into the GE-8JV system. However, their plan was foiled by Pandemic Legion reinforcements, who were waiting for them. The Tengus tried to burn away from the V-3YG7 gate but were quickly bubbled. Only a handful managing to extract and reach the safety of their station.

Pandemic Legion cleared the field of any remaining hostiles, then proceeded to safely extract its super-capital force, followed quickly by its Proteus fleet.

All told, Time Dilation proved to be a non existent factor for the battle. During the fighting, in both systems, the local population did not exceed 400 pilots. HERO Coalition suffered a devastating defeat, losing a large bulk of their Tengus, a loss that is summed not only in ISK, but Skill Points as well.

221 ships were lost in the fighting, for a sum of 30 Bil ISK in damages, almost all of it done to HERO Coalition.

In the wake of the battle, there have been dissenting voices heard in HERO Coalition about the management of the war, as evident in their Middle Management Meeting

Whether HERO Coalition can continue and withstand the pressure applied to it by Pandemic Legion, or is on the verge of collapse, will be seen in the next few weeks as the conflicts continues.

Providence Fight Club: Nightmare in V-3YG7 13.3.2015

V-3YG7 system, Catch region. On the night of the 13th of March, Providence Bloc forces met Pandemic Legion and HERO Coalition in a decisive battle on the GE-8JV gate, which proved disastrous.

Providence Bloc rolled its Nightmare Battleship fleet, 100 pilots strong, and made its way to GE-8JV system, HERO Coalition’s staging system, in order to provoke a fight. HERO Coalition had a 60 pilot Caracal Cruiser fleet roaming at the time, but it declined to engage the Providence fleet on the 3-OKDA gate, jumping into the system instead, followed closely by Providence Bloc.

A short battle ensued in 3-OKDA system, with Providence Bloc melting away the Caracals, who were forced to quickly disengage and warp away, abandoning the field. By this time, Pandemic Legion gathered reports of the fighting, and organized its own fleet, a 90 pilot Proteus Strategic Cruiser fleet.

Providence Bloc made its way to the V-3YG7 system, waiting near the GE-8JV gate, possibly for HERO Coalition to form a larger response fleet, when Pandemic Legion bridged into the system and warped on top of Providence Bloc. Fighting erupted immediately, with Providence Bloc managing to annihilate the Logistics wing of the Pandemic Legion fleet, who melted away under the laser fire of the Nightmares.

However, at the same time, the Proteus fleet managed to cling to the Nightmares, spreading points and effectively barring any attempt to escape. The Proteus fleet was able to overcome the Logistics of Providence Bloc, destroying 2 Nightmares before losing its last remaining Logistics. This quickly forced Pandemic Legion to jump in Triage Carriers to replace its Logistics wing.

Providence Bloc and Pandemic Legion Tangle on the GE-8JV Gate

With the Triage on field, Pandemic Legion was able to tank the incoming damage, and set to the task of destroying Providence Bloc’s remaining Nightmares. Providence Bloc, for its part, tried to destroy the Triage Carrier, but was losing ships fast. With a second Triage Carrier on the field and not enough damage, the order to retreat was given. The remnants of the Nightmare fleet made their escape to the B-3QPD system, and then the long track home.

HERO Coalition only showed briefly during the second fight, quickly shooting Providence Bloc’s Nightmares before retreating again in a Caracal fleet, estimated at 90 pilots strong.

Time Dilation was not a noticeable factor in the fight, with local staying at the range of 300 pilots at the peak of fighting in the V-3YG7 system. No complaints were registered by pilots regarding server performances.

All told, Pandemic Legion lost 17 ships, mostly Logistics, While Providence Bloc lost 41 ships, almost half of their fleet. HERO Coalition lost 53 ships, mostly to Providence Bloc, but also some to Pandemic Legion. The death toll summed reaches 111 ships, but for a total ISK damage of 28 Bil ISK, most of it caused to Providence Bloc.

Providence Fight Club: V-3YG7 8.3.2015

V-3YG7 system, Catch region. On the the evening of the 8th of March, Providence Bloc forces engaged a Pandemic Legion‘s fleet, in what quickly became a bloody exchange between the two entities.

The fighting started after Pandemic Legion’s forces, who were roaming the Catch region, received reports of Providence Bloc’s fleet making its way towards HERO Coalition’s staging system of GE-8JV. The force was reported at a 100 pilots strong, mainly in Naga Battlecruisers.

The Pandemic Legion fleet at the time was a small Machariel Battleship gang. Realizing it could not take on Providence Bloc with its current numbers, a call was made for reinforcements, and in a few minutes, the fleet’s size swelled to 50 pilots.

With their forces bolstered, Pandemic Legion made its way to intercept the incoming Providence Bloc force, finally catching up to it in the V-3YG7 system, on the GE-8JV gate. Providence Bloc’s fleet was positioned above the gate, while Pandemic Legion’s forces remained close to it.

The fight started when the Naga fleet warped down to the GE-8JV gate. Hesitating, thinking the Providence Bloc fleet was attempting to retreat, Pandemic Legion’s ships maintained their position around the gate, which turned to be a mistake. Quickly, the Naga fleet opened fire on the dis-organized Pandemic Legion’s fleet.

As the first Machariel was volleyed off, Pandemic Legion’s force quickly regained its composure and anchored up, burning away from the gate and the Naga fleet while returning fire. After a few harrowing minutes of intense volleys, with both sides exchanging losses, it seems Pandemic Legion came out on top, as its fleet finally managed to hold repairs, preventing any more losses.

Providence Bloc’s fleet, on the other hand, was in complete shambles, losing ship after ship, with most of its Nagas decimated. While Pandemic Legion was clearing the field of the remaining Providence Bloc ships, A HERO Coalition Harpy Assault Frigate fleet entered the fray, some 80 pilots strong.

The Harpy fleet warped around the battlefield for a while, attempting to land close to the Pandemic Legion Logistics wing, but to no avail. With Providence Bloc’s fleet retreating, Pandemic Legion turned its attention to the Harpy fleet. After a couple of warp ins, it finally managed to land on top of the Harpies. Interdiction probes quickly trapped most of the fleet, allowing the Machariels to use their smartbombs to destroy the helpless Frigates.

With their entire Logistics wing annihilated as well as a fair number of their mainline ships, the HERO Coalition fleet bid a hasty retreat, allowing Pandemic Legion to claim the field.

Battle Report for the V-3YG7 system can be found here.

In total, 163 ships were destroyed in the engagement, for 11 Bil ISK of damages, with Pandemic Legion losing 13 ships, for a total of 5 Bil ISK, Providence Bloc losing 72 ships for an equal value, and HERO Coalition losing 72 ships for 1 Bil ISK of damages. During the fight no Time Dilation was recorded, though local numbers remain unknown, presumed, at the peak of fighting at 300-400 pilots.

Providence Fight Club: V-3YG7 24.7.2014

V-3YG7 system, Catch region. On the 24th of July, a large scale battle took place on GE-8JV gate in the system between HERO Coalition, The Unthinkables Alliance and Providence Bloc, which saw more than two hundred ship lost and at least twenty billion ISK in damages.

Providence Bloc mustered a hundred and sixty strong Navy Issue Vexor class Cruiser fleet, with adequate logistics support, and made its way to the Catch region. The fleet arrived to HERO Coalition’s new staging system, GE-8JV, where it set a camp on the station and harassed HERO Coalition forces, as well as a thirty strong Honorable Third Party Alliance Talwar class Destroyer gang. While waiting on the station for HERO Coalition to form up, news came of The Unthinkables fleet, some seventy pilot strong, mostly in Navy Issue Apocalypse class Battleships with light logistics support, holding in the V-3YG7 system on the GE-8JV gate.

After a few minutes when it became clear that the enemy was not going to jump into the system, Providence Bloc forces decided instead to take the fight to The Unthinkables, jumping into the V-3YG7 system and re-approaching the GE-8JV gate, when The Unthinkables force landed at range and a fight developed, during which The Unthinkables lit Cynosural beacons and brought into the field two Archon class Carriers, which immediately went into Triage mode in order to supply logistics for The Unthinkables fleet. At the same time, a large HERO Coalition force, a hundred and thirty pilot strong, mainly in Moa class Cruisers jumped into the system as well and joined the fray.

Video of the engagement can be viewed here.

What started as a possible victory for Providence Bloc forces over The Unthinkables fleet quickly turned into defeat as HERO Coalition threw its might alongside The Unthinkables, targeting the Providence Bloc ships. Against the combined might of the two fleets, Providence Bloc forces could not stand, yet they attempted to fight until the last ship, however, with most of the Fleet Commanders removed from the field, and mounting casualties, the remnants of the fleet attempted to extract back into GE-8JV, where a secondary battle between Yulai Federation Alliance bomber wing, led by the Oscura Simmetria Corporation and Honorable Third Party Alliance was raging on the V-3YG7 gate.

Original battle report for the V-3YG7 system can be found here.
Fixed battle report for the V-3YG7 system can be found here.
Summary of the V-3YG7 battle can be found here.

Though the Yulai Federation force managed to destroy the Honorable Third Party fleet in a successful bombing run, it was itself later destroyed by HERO Coalition forces, as smaller skirmishes developed across the two systems between stragglers and remnants of the fighting fleets. Though HERO Coalition forces and The Unthinkables fleet exchanged brief fire on the GE-8JV gate, it seems both fleets decided to disengage, thus ending hostilities for the day.

Fixed battle report for the GE-8JV system can be found here.

It is estimated that the losses throughout the battle amount to twenty-six billion ISK in total, with more than two hundred and fifty ships destroyed, as V-3YG7 system saw more than four hundred and thirty-nine pilots in its peak. Though most of these pilots were concentrated on the grid of the GE-8JV gate, Time Dilation did not play any factor in the fighting and no noticeable slowdown was recorded.

Providence Fight Club: V-3YG7 17.7.2014

V-3YG7 system, Catch region. On the 17th of July, Providence Bloc forces fought a battle with HERO Coalition and The Unthinkables Alliance, resulting in more than two hundred destroyed ships and nine billion ISK in damages.

Providence Bloc forces were organized in a Rupture class Cruiser fleet numbering seventy-seven pilots and made their way towards V-3YG7 system in the Catch region, which serves as HERO Coalition’s staging system in that region. On their way towards their target, the fleet encountered a Southern Federation Alliance Caracal class Cruiser gang, numbering twenty ships, running away from The Unthinkables Alliance Ishtar class Heavy Assault Cruiser gang of a similar size in the SV5-8N system.

A fight broke out on the WD-VTV gate, with Providence Bloc forces decimating twenty percent of the enemy fleet and only receiving light damage in return. However, the Southern Federation Alliance gang did not try to fight and instead burned away from Providence Bloc forces, retreating from the system. No attempt was made to go after The Unthinkables fleet, as it was situated in a far better position, thus deeming engagement unfavorable.

The original battle report can be found here.

After this incident, Providence Bloc forces entered the V-3YG7 system, and sat about bubbling the V-3YG7 station. The force camped the station for a long stretch of time, managing to destroy individual ships, though suffering continued harassment from bombers. Finally, a large HERO Coalition Moa class Cruiser fleet undocked from the station, and a fight developed between the two fleets.

The HERO Coalition fleet managed to inflict moderate casualties to the Providence Bloc forces, but was itself nearly decimated, thanks in part to a coordinated Yulai Federation Alliance bombing run, carried by the Oscura Simmetria Corporation, which destroyed most of its Logistic ships.

With reports of The Unthinkables’ Ishtar fleet advancing to the system, reinforced by fifteen more ships, a decision was made to disengage, in order to concentrate on the Ishtar fleet. As the Ishtar fleet entered the V-3YG7 it encountered the Providence Bloc fleet sitting on the B-3QPD gate. A chaotic fight quickly ensued, with Yulai Federation bombers managing to score another successful bombing run on the Ishtar fleet, destroying five Ishtars but also inflicting friendly casualties.

The fixed battle report can be found here.

At this point, with almost half the fleet lost, and much damage caused, Providence forces decided to retreat. A token HERO Coalition force attempted to give chase, managing to inflict some more losses, but in the end, remnants of the original force managed to reach the safety of Providence’s staging system. Out of the original fleet, it is estimated that thirty to forty pilots survived the entire conflict.

Providence Fight Club: 13.7.2014

On the 13th of July, Providence Bloc forces saw no less than five separate engagements in the span of four hours in the Catch and Providence regions, resulting in a total of one hundred and eighty-three kills and one hundred and six losses as well as twelve billion ISKs in damages.

The first engagement took place in the 9KOE-A system, Catch region, between Providence Bloc and the THE UNTHINKABLES Alliance. Providence Bloc forces, commanded by corebloodbrothers of Volition Cult, The Volition Cult Alliance, were making their way towards the V-3YG7 system in the Catch region, which serves as Brave Collective Alliance‘s main staging system. They were mainly in Battlecruiser and Cruiser class ships with armor Logistic ship support, some eighty-five pilots in total.

However, their route was blocked in the U-QVWD system, by a THE UNTHINKABLES Alliance fleet of an equal size, mostly in Ishtar class Heavy Assault Cruisers . Since THE UNTHINKABLES had the better position, jumping into them was deemed unwise, and a decision was made to retreat, hoping for the enemy force to be lured and jump into the Providence Bloc fleet, thus allowing for a decent brawl.

This was what exactly happened, when THE UNTHINKABLES force gave chase after some time, and caught up to the Providence Bloc forces in the 9KOE-A system, on the 36N-HZ gate. What unfolded was a chaotic brawl, with Providence Bloc losing seventy-five ships, but managing to inflict twenty-eight losses on THE UNTHINKABLES.

With the bulk of the fleet destroyed, it was presumed that this would be the end of Providence Bloc operations for the day, yet reports of an Affirmative(dot) Alliance Ferox class Battlecruiser gang in the F-YH5B system, Providence region, spurred members of the fleet to re-ship to Rupture class Cruisers. What followed was a one sided engagement between the thirty-five strong Ferox gang and the seventy-two pilot Rupture fleet on the 8P9-BM gate, which was won by Providence Bloc with only minor losses.

Emboldened by this engagement, Providence Bloc forces made their way back to the V-3YG7 system for a second round. Only this time, a CFC Frigate fleet, a hundred and ten strong mainly in Interceptors and Harpy class Assault ships was encountered in the B-3QPD system, Catch region. The CFC force was jumping into the system from the V-3YG7 system and was caught by the Providence Bloc forces. A brutal engagement quickly happened, with Providence Bloc forces decimating half the CFC fleet, but taking some significant losses themselves.

Original battle report can be found here

In the end, Providence Bloc forces prevailed and entered the V-3YG7 system, however, it seems that remnants of the CFC force decided to give chase, as a second engagement flared on the B-3QPD gate and the station in the system, resulting in more losses to the CFC forces, as well as an Almost Awesome(dot) Alliance Cormorant class Destroyer gang which got caught in the crossfire. This time Providence Bloc losses were minimal.

Original battle report can be found here

What should have marked the last engagement, with Providence Bloc forces happily returning to their staging system, was proven wrong, as a Cult of War Alliance Ishtar class Heavy Assault Cruiser gang, with intentions to prey upon the remnants of the Providence Bloc fleet, was sadly mistaken in their estimates, and instead encountered a still formidable fleet compared to their forces. The fighting was carried on the gates linking the U-QVWD and B-3QPD systems, with Cult of War suffering quite a few losses before abondening the field completely.

Original battle report can be found here

This marked the last major engagement before Providence Bloc forces returned to the staging system, reaching five engagements, with four clear victories and one defeat early on.

After a turbulent start for the summer, will this mark a return to normality for the Providence Bloc?
