News: Northern Coalition(dot) Reinforces Towers in Providence, Pays a Toll for Its Actions

N-RMSH system, Providence region. On the 1st of May, 20:30 EVE Standard Time, Northern Coalition(dot) [NC] reinforced towers in the system. However, when extracting, an Aeon Mothership and an Archon Carrier were left behind and immediately got tackled, resulting in a fight.

[NC] had deployed a large Super Capital fleet to the N-RMSH system, reinforcing towers belonging to Yulai Federation [YF]. The force included no less than 15 Aeon, 11 Nyx and 1 Hel Motherships, 7 Naglfar and 3 Moros Dreadnoughts and 12 Archon Carriers. After finishing their show of unstoppable force, the [NC] Super Capital fleet extracted from the system, save for a single Aeon and a single Archon who were caught by an interdiction probe deployed by a Providence Bloc pilot, just as the fleet was jumping out of the system.

Quickly, Providence Bloc pilots used the opportunity to keep the Carrier and Mothership tackled in one of the asteroid belts in the system. In the meantime, pings were sent, fleets diverted and reinforcements started pouring into the system. While the Aeon did manage to break itself free, clearing the interdiction probes around it and jumping out to safety, the Archon wasn’t so lucky.

[NC], realizing the gravity of the situation, attempted to mount a rescue. Due to the Phoebe changes to jump drives, most of its Super Capital fleet was fatigued, unable to jump back to the rescue of the tackled ships. Instead, a makeshift gang of shield Battlecruisers and Cruisers was assembled and bridged into the system, intending to clear tackle and allow the Archon to jump out.

However, by this time Providence Bloc bridged in reinforcements, and more were pouring through the gates. A brief skirmish was fought over the Carrier, in which Providence Bloc completely and utterly annihilated the [NC] rescue fleet. With no hope left and an overwhelming enemy force pouring its fury at it, the Archon had little to do but to surrender to the onslaught.

With the Archon destroyed, Providence Bloc secured the system, content in making the giant bleed for its efforts.

Battle report for the N-RMSH system can be found here.

At the peak of the battle, local reached 200 pilots, with no Time Dilation reported.

Providence Bloc lost 28 ships, for a total of 2.5 Bil ISK. [NC] lost an equal number of ships, but triple the cost, receiving nearly 8 Bil ISK in damages.

As the two entities continue to battle each other, and now towers reinforced, it seems a new level of hostility has been reached. With timers slowly ticking down, the next engagement may prove to be far more brutal than those before it, raising concerns of the direction this “Limited War” is taking.

News: Providence Bloc Loses a Station Upgrade Platfrom to Pandemic Legion

XHQ-7V system, Providence region. On the 14th of October, a Pedestal Upgrade Platform deployed by Yulai Federation was destroyed by forces belonging to Pandemic Legion.

The Providence region is one of the most densely populated regions in Null Security space, and boasts the greatest amount of outposts. Thus, its inhabitants are well versed in the laying and upgrading of outposts. The scheduled operation to increase the upgrade slots for the Amarrian outpost in XHQ-7V seemed no different than the countless others done in the past.

As usual, Providence Bloc forces kept a tight lip on the operation, locking down the system with mobile warp disruptors, Interceptors and Interdictors, as well as having a fleet on standby to intercept any hostile forces. The Pedestal Upgrade Platform, nicknamed “Egg” due to its shape, was deployed an hour before the scheduled daily server maintenance and slowly filled with the needed materials. It seemed as though this would be another boring, unexciting operation, yet things ended quite differently than expected.

Disaster stroke in the final hauling run. With a last load of materials en route to fill the Egg and the scheduled downtime approaching fast, the Freighter pilot experienced connection issues and disconnected from the game. Before the pilot could log back in and transfer the last batch of materials, the server went down for its routine maintenance.

Once it was back online, it turned out to have created a bug concerning the Egg. The materials stored in it prior to the scheduled downtime vanished, and trying to add the last batch did nothing to trigger its conversion into an upgrade slot, nor could it now be un-anchored and scooped back in. To their despair, the pilots of Yulai Federation found that their upgrade had been lost to the whims of the Tranquility server.

At this point, Providence Bloc attempted to turn a positive from a negative, and use the Egg as a magnate for hostiles, hoping to bait an enemy fleet or two. For this, they prepared a Zealot Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet of forty pilots and waited patiently for prey to bite. However, their bait turned out to be too successful, as it attracted the attention of Pandemic Legion.

Two squadrons of Motherships descended upon the system and proceeded the engulf the Egg in a cloud of drones. Unable to counter this display of force, Providence Bloc resorted to using the opportunity to practice bombing runs upon the drone cloud. Several Stealth Bombers though, were unlucky enough to get caught by the Motherships and quickly dispatched.

Attempted bombing run carried by Providence Bloc

Besides the odd bombing run, no incidents were recorded except a lone Drake Battlecruiser who seemed intent on challenging the Pandemic Legion force head on. It showed a display of bravery rarely seen in EVE Online, before being dispatched as well by the now amused pilots of Pandemic Legion.

After half an hour from their initial appearance in the system, Pandemic Legion forces destroyed the Egg and exited without further incident.

The estimated loss of the Egg and the components is valued at ten billion ISK, however no kill mail was generated (A known issue with such structures). Regardless, it seems members of Providence Bloc took the loss in good spirit. Hopefully, their next upgrade operation will go more smoothly.

Providence Fight Club: V-3YG7 24.7.2014

V-3YG7 system, Catch region. On the 24th of July, a large scale battle took place on GE-8JV gate in the system between HERO Coalition, The Unthinkables Alliance and Providence Bloc, which saw more than two hundred ship lost and at least twenty billion ISK in damages.

Providence Bloc mustered a hundred and sixty strong Navy Issue Vexor class Cruiser fleet, with adequate logistics support, and made its way to the Catch region. The fleet arrived to HERO Coalition’s new staging system, GE-8JV, where it set a camp on the station and harassed HERO Coalition forces, as well as a thirty strong Honorable Third Party Alliance Talwar class Destroyer gang. While waiting on the station for HERO Coalition to form up, news came of The Unthinkables fleet, some seventy pilot strong, mostly in Navy Issue Apocalypse class Battleships with light logistics support, holding in the V-3YG7 system on the GE-8JV gate.

After a few minutes when it became clear that the enemy was not going to jump into the system, Providence Bloc forces decided instead to take the fight to The Unthinkables, jumping into the V-3YG7 system and re-approaching the GE-8JV gate, when The Unthinkables force landed at range and a fight developed, during which The Unthinkables lit Cynosural beacons and brought into the field two Archon class Carriers, which immediately went into Triage mode in order to supply logistics for The Unthinkables fleet. At the same time, a large HERO Coalition force, a hundred and thirty pilot strong, mainly in Moa class Cruisers jumped into the system as well and joined the fray.

Video of the engagement can be viewed here.

What started as a possible victory for Providence Bloc forces over The Unthinkables fleet quickly turned into defeat as HERO Coalition threw its might alongside The Unthinkables, targeting the Providence Bloc ships. Against the combined might of the two fleets, Providence Bloc forces could not stand, yet they attempted to fight until the last ship, however, with most of the Fleet Commanders removed from the field, and mounting casualties, the remnants of the fleet attempted to extract back into GE-8JV, where a secondary battle between Yulai Federation Alliance bomber wing, led by the Oscura Simmetria Corporation and Honorable Third Party Alliance was raging on the V-3YG7 gate.

Original battle report for the V-3YG7 system can be found here.
Fixed battle report for the V-3YG7 system can be found here.
Summary of the V-3YG7 battle can be found here.

Though the Yulai Federation force managed to destroy the Honorable Third Party fleet in a successful bombing run, it was itself later destroyed by HERO Coalition forces, as smaller skirmishes developed across the two systems between stragglers and remnants of the fighting fleets. Though HERO Coalition forces and The Unthinkables fleet exchanged brief fire on the GE-8JV gate, it seems both fleets decided to disengage, thus ending hostilities for the day.

Original battle report for the GE-8JV system can be found here.
Fixed battle report for the GE-8JV system can be found here.

It is estimated that the losses throughout the battle amount to twenty-six billion ISK in total, with more than two hundred and fifty ships destroyed, as V-3YG7 system saw more than four hundred and thirty-nine pilots in its peak. Though most of these pilots were concentrated on the grid of the GE-8JV gate, Time Dilation did not play any factor in the fighting and no noticeable slowdown was recorded.

Providence Fight Club: AY-YCU 7.3.2014

First published on the EVE Scribe on the 8/3/2014

If you are a resident of Providence, you are no stranger to the odd roaming gang. Providence is the preferred roaming spot for dozens of Corporations and Alliances, not to mention Streamers. It seems that yesterday was no different, as a fleet formed in Amarr made its way down to Providence. What makes this gang distinct from others? It seemed to have been formed entirely of random individuals who all happened to be in Amarr at the same time. The organizer of the fleet, apparently, is Robyn lynx, a former Brave Newbies member and the current CEO of a one man corp, as logs would indicate:

[ 2014.03.07 19:49:46 ] Robyn lynx > Join
[ 2014.03.07 19:49:54 ] Robyn lynx > spectre fleet for Cruiser fleet
[ 2014.03.07 19:49:57 ] Robyn lynx > leaving soon
[ 2014.03.07 19:50:02 ] Robyn lynx > 30+ already
[ 2014.03.07 19:50:21 ] Robyn lynx > forming in amarr
[ 2014.03.07 19:50:24 ] Robyn lynx > kitchen sink

The fleet, made of around fifty pilots strong mainly in an assortment of cruisers and battlecruisers, entered Providence through Misaba, into the R3-K7K system and went down the D-GTMI pipe, catching unaware pilots in its course. Once it reached N8XA-L Heimdall Midgard, The commander of the AY-YCU defense fleet decided to act. “Well the red fleet was sitting in N8XA-L, catching some pilots that weren’t watching intel, and as you might know We (i.e. Gun Fun Alliance) always have a home defense fleet in AY-YCU up. So I told our pilots to bring AHACs\Armor Tech 3 and four Guardians plus some Tech 1 ships. I also called Kraftwerk, who had a gang in R3-K7K. We merged our two fleets, and they changed into armor ships while the red fleet moved down to AY-YCU and started camping the ZT-LPU gate on both sides. I let the Kraftwerk fleet move in from R3-K7K’s direction and my guys in AY-YCU jumped at the same time on the gate. The reds in ZT-LPU  jumped into AY-YCU and were caught by our and their bubbles. we started picking off the red fleet’s ships and it was nearly completely decimated, I think two or three pilots logged off in AY-YCU”*

The EVE-Kill reports are pretty straight-forward, with the Yulai Federation supplying a marvelous bombing run and Gun Fun Alliance, Krafwerk., TSOE Consortium and RECURSIVE ASCENSION finishing the job. All in all, another night in the Providence Region.
