A cautionary tale about over-eagerness and its disastrous results

One of the main sources of income in Null Security space are anomalies. These sites, which are automatically scanned by Player ships once they enter a system or undock from a station, offer ISK in the form of spawning waves of NPC ships, whose bounties can, in total, amount to quite a substantial figure. This is especially true of systems with low enough “True Sec” value, who get a wider range of anomalies. The sites themselves re-spawn at a set rate, allowing to “Chain” several together for maximum monetary yield.

Those who run these anomalies, called “Ratters” usually invest in ships with high tanking and damage output. The Carrier class of ships is the one most often utilized, due to its ability to ignore most of the NPC ships’ damage, while maintaining a decent damage output of its own. Others may opt to use several Battleship class ships on multiple accounts together, in order to do these anomalies at a faster rate, thus increasing their income. Drone boats have been mostly favored in that setup, as NPC ships would not target the Player’s drones with more than one Player ship present, thus splitting the damage and allowing for the drones themselves to engage the targets with minimal Player intervention.

Some Players though, prefer to use expensive ships, specifically Marauder or Pirate Faction class Battleships. These ships, which usually cost four to five times the price of their brethren, have a slew of bonuses which allow them to tank and damage far better than other ships, to twenty or even thirty percent degree. They are mainly flown by Players who prefer to do said anomalies solitary and most efficiently, or because of skill constraints.

Often times, these ships are fitted with expensive Faction or even Dead Space modules, whose bonuses are much higher than the Tech II variants, and at times easier to fit. This is done partly for the “Bling” factor, i.e. as a display of wealth, and due to increased bonuses to damage, tank and tracking or just capacitor stability, which makes the activity easier and less stressful to handle.

Thus, this class of ships is very attractive for “Roamers”, Players who cross the vast emptiness of space in search of a decent fight or an expensive kill. Part of it, is of course, the “Smug” factor. Getting an expensive kill can offset many a losing streak, not to mention do wonders to a Player’s efficiency. The other factor is the drop. Every Player ship destroyed has a chance to drop some of its modules. If enough expensive modules drop, the incursion can be proven to be quite profitable, and able to fund more ships in the future, granted the Player manages to escape to High Security space with his loot.

All of this was surely in the back of Exclevori’s mind, of Asturm Fidelis, Apocalypse Now(dot) Alliance, when he flew alongside his CEO, Dragoshi Drambuie, to the Catch region. Dragoshi made quite a name for himself roaming the adjacent regions to Providence, picking a fight with the various members of the Stain-Wagon Coalition.

However, for the most part, the journey proved to be unremarkable, as the pair jumped from one empty system to the next. They were ready to despair and set course to deeper, uncharted territory when something quite unexpected happened – They stumbled upon a populated system. With four Machariel class Battleships showing on the directional scanner in the HP-64T system, Catch region, hopefully still oblivious to their presence, the pair split up in order to find their victims, covering the most profitable anomalies in the system.

Warping to zero in a Forsaken Hub, Exclevori landed right between the four Machariel class Battleships. Screaming on their coms for Dragoshi Drambuie to warp to him, Exclevori didn’t notice one important piece of information – The Machariels were using smartbombs.

Smartbombs are modules that do moderate damage around the Player’s ship at regular intervals. However, the damage itself is quite anemic compared to missiles or turrets, and its range is very short. Yet with four Machariels using smartbombs together at the spawn point, it is guaranteed that the NPC ships will be destroyed before they manage to move away from the smartbombs’ range. Not a traditional choice for running anomalies, but one that requires even less attentiveness than a drone based setup.

While Exclevori was too excited to notice, Dragoshi Drambuie, who landed a bit further than him, and had his friend on the fleet’s watchlist, saw immediately the peril Exclevori was in. Shouting to him to burn away from the Machariels, his warning proved too late, as Exclevori’s Stabber class Cruiser was taking damage from the Machariels’ smartbombs. Quickly, it succumbed to the damage.

Unable to break the tank of the Machariels by himself, Dragoshi Drambuie had to warp off as well, leaving the enemy’s ships to continue their activity unmolested, probably not even aware of what has transpired.

If anything is to be learned from this story, is that one should always choose his victims wisely, and never give in to excitement, or else end up in his pod.

Special thanks for Exclevori of Asturm Fidelis, Apocalypse Now(dot) Alliance, for giving me this story

Breaking News: Two Northern CoalitionDot Nyx Class Motherships Destroyed in GE-8JV

Two Nyx class Motherships were destroyed tonight by an Against ALL Authorities fleet in the GE-8JV system, Catch region. The Nyx pilots, Bobmon of Burning Napalm and Valeu Auleu of Enterprise Estonia, Northern CoalitionDot Alliance, were targeting capital ships using the Cynosural Beacon Array anchored at a tower in the system. Since the system itself is considered a primary hub for Against ALL Authorities, it sees heavy traffic, something the Nyx pilots counted on, as Valeu Auleu had operated in the system the day before, destroying an Archon class carrier and an Anshar class Jump Freighter at two separate engagements.

However, information of Valeu Auleu’s operation had already spread amongst the pilots of Against ALL Authorities Alliance, prompting the Capsuleers of Novatech Armada, one of the member Corporations, to try and lay a trap for the Nyx pilot.

Keeping the operation a secret from the rest of the Alliance, in fear that a spy might expose the trap, Xbox360clock organized a bait and tackle team to catch the enemy Nyx. Planning ahead, Xbox360clock made sure to have a Mobile Cynosural Inhibitor ready to deploy, which would later prove to be the undoing of the Nyx pilots. An Archon, piloted by Haley Anstian, was set as bait, and told to use the beacon in the hopes of luring the Nyx pilot. However, the Nyx pilot did not bite.

Fearing that a second attempt so soon and by the same pilot would raise the Nyx pilot’s suspicions, Allianc was called to use his Thanatos class carrier instead, after a fifteen minute break. This time, the Nyx pilot took the bait, hook, line and sinker and had the carrier tackled with his neutral alt in the system, who promptly lit a cynosural beacon for the Nyx.

Only, to the surprise of the pilots of Novatech Armada, not one Mothership jumped into the system, but two! Quickly regaining composure, Xbox360clock de-cloaked his Sabre class interdictor, bubbled the two Motherships and had an Armageddon and Dominix class battleships fitted with heavy neutralizers tackle the ships and lit a cynosural beacon while he himself anchored the Mobile Cynosural Inhibitor.

As dreadnaughts jumped in to apply damage, the members of Novatech Armada started pinging the Alliance lead Fleet Commanders in order for them to quickly form reinforcement fleets, while spamming the news at every channel they had. The owner of the tower, R17a, was contacted as well, in order to man the tower’s guns and help apply damage.

At the same time, Northern CoalitionDot was forming up a “Slowcat” fleet in order to save the tackled Motherships. However, due to the Nyx pilots’ error, the Mobile Cynosural Inhibitor was not visible on their overview, effectively making them oblivious to the fact that they could not light a cynosural beacon. Without the ability to lit a cynosural beacon, the relief fleet could not jump in and save the tackled Motherships, guaranteeing their doom.

With the reinforcement fleet led by ShadowandLight of Black Aces, Against ALL Authorities Alliance, arriving on field, the two Motherships went down fast, and the two pilots unceremoniously podded. According to zKillboard, the total worth of the two ships lost is approximately fifty-four billion ISK, added to that are the two pods, totaling at two point five billion ISK each. Altogether, Northern CoalitionDot was dealt almost sixty billion ISK in damages.

Northern CoalitionDot has not given any official reply, however, SpiritOne, of Burning Napalm, Northern CoalitionDot Alliance, went on record to say that The Scanner, the main account whom Valeu Auleu belongs to, will be booted from his corporation. Bobmon, however, will not face any re-precautions for his loss due to the fact that The Scanner was the pilot in charge at the time.

When asked what was Northern CoalitionDot’s stance on the losses, after it was discovered it was a trap, SpiritOne claimed the pilots knew it of the trap, and chose to go in anyway. However, he did give props to the RUS Coalition for quickly forming.

Intercepted internal communications of Northern CoalitionDot Alliance reveal that the operation in question was not sanctioned by the Alliance, thus the pilots will not be receiving replacements for their losses:

Vince Draken: oh
Vince Draken: im not replacing them
Vince Draken: so
Vince Draken: gg
Vince Draken: Your are a hero as long as you get away. Once caught, you get ridiculed*

So far, the Nyx pilots have not been available for comment

The EVE Scribe will keep you posted of further developments

Special thanks are in order to Xbox360clock and the following Novatech Armada pilots: Allianc, Cyb3r D3ath, Fanny’Bandit, Xex syrron and Haley Anstian for giving me the interview, and to SpiritOne of Burning Napalm, Northern CoalitionDot Alliance, for giving me an on the record interview.

Article: Doctrine Reshuffle

With the recent changes made by CCP, I sat down with corebloodbrothers to discuss the future of EVE fleet warfare

For those of you who don’t read patch notes, and until recently, this included me as well, CCP has decided to change a core mechanic in the game, namely drone assist. However, in the last few months, drone assist has been the leading fleet doctrine for many large Alliances and Coalitions, including the Providence Bloc. Thus, I decided to ask corebloodbrothers, one of Providence’s senior Fleet Commanders, about this recent change, and its effect on large fleet warfare in general, and Providence doctrines in particular.

What is drone assist?

For those of you confused, drone assist is a fleet doctrine built around the ability of fleet members to assign their drones to another pilot in the same fleet. This allows for one pilot to concentrate the entire drone damage output of the fleet, in one perfect volley when using sentry drones, who received a few upgrades to damage and tracking during the years. The assigned pilot is designated the “Drone Bunny” and is usually the Fleet Commander, giving him absolute control over the situation and eliminating much of the human error and waste in more conventional, turret based doctrines.

The volley damage itself is overwhelming with large sentry drone fleets, easily melting battleships regardless of how many logistics ships are on the field. Often times, the target isn’t even aware of its impending doom due to the “Drone Bunny” fitting a Passive Targeting Array, which does not alert pilots when they are targeted (“Yellow Boxing”).

There are no known hard counters to this doctrine, except identifying and eliminating the Fleet Commanders and “Drone Bunnies” beforehand (“Head Decapitation”), which is not always an option.

This doctrine favors mainly Gallente, and to some extent, Amarr ships, and saw the rise of the Dominix class battleship to the forefront of EVE fleet warfare after many years of neglect.

Is drone assist dead?

For those of you who invested skill points in drones, corebloodbrothers has a reassuring message. Drone assist, in Providence at least, is not dead. The change only limited the amount of drones assigned to one player, creating a “cap” of fifty drones per assigned character. This allows for a squadron to assign its drones to its squad leader, increasing the number of “Drone Bunnies” to one per ten members in fleet, making squad leaders have an actual function in fleets besides augmenting wing commander boosts.

In theory, with multiple “Drone Bunnies”, the damage output on the field is still considerable, but also far more flexible, allowing quick target switching and overwhelming logistics ships, as damage spread on multiple ships is also possible now. It also decreases the effectiveness of the “Head Decapitation” counter, as there is a need to identify a larger number of “Drone Bunnies”, and the likelihood of removing all of them from the field at the start of a battle is far smaller.

Of course, in practice so far, this new method has yielded mixed results. corebloodbrothers admits that it will take some time for Fleet Commanders to get accustomed to the change, and for a pool of skilled squad leaders to form. However, he remains optimistic.

The final days of the “Slowcat”?

The “Slowcat” is the name given to a specific fit of the Amarrian carrier – The Archon. “Slowcats” are heavily tanked Archons who use sentry drones for damage and remote repair and transfer capacitor between one another, creating what is called “Spider Tanking”. Though their damage is anemic compared to battleships such as the Gallente Dominix or the Amarrian Armageddon, their unique properties allow them to fit more sets of drones, assuring they can shrug off the loss of drones by bombing runs and the like. Up until recently, “Slowcat” fleets were considered invincible, able to withstand attacks by numerically superior sub-capital fleets, even at four-to-one odds.

For those hoping that the patch will remove the “Slowcat” fleet doctrine from the battlefield, bitter disappointment awaits. Though the “Slowcats'” fitting will require a bit of tuning, to accommodate the need for Archon pilots to lock targets individually, the basic doctrine is still mostly intact. The only major change is the need for “Slowcat” pilots to manage their drones and targets during battles, a task which was at solely the Fleet Commander’s before the patch.

What did become unfeasible after the patch, was the introduction of the “Slowmera”, a variation of the “Slowcat” based on the shield tanking Caldari carrier – The Chimera. Pandemic Legion experimented with the concept shortly before the patch, but with the need to fit Sensor Boosters and ECCM modules to negate electronic warfare, Chimeras will be forced to sacrifice their tank in order to apply damage on the field, negating their effectiveness compared to the Archon itself.

What does the future hold?

According to corebloodbrothers, we will be seeing soon a return to a more turret based fleet warfare, as has already been witnessed in the last few days. The ship that will make its biggest return to the battlefields of EVE, is the Amarrian Heavy Assault Cruiser – The Zealot. Already successfully operated by Razor Alliance of the CFC and Black Legion, the Zealot combines speed, tank and damage in one small mobile hull.

Northern CoalitionDot has lately adopted the Navy Issue Apocalypse, an Amarrian battleship, along their Proteus doctrine in their fleets.

The RUS Coalition has made a wide use of the Minmatar battleship, the Typhoon, while other CFC entities that have deployed to the Catch region continued to rely on the Tengu and Harpy as their main combat ships.

H.E.R.O Coalition continues to heavily use the Megathron class battleship as their main combat ship, along an increase in the use of the Thorax class cruiser.

The Tengu and the Caracal will remain the ships of choice for kitting fleets, while the Cerberus, the Tech II variant of the Caracal, might see greater use as a counter to said fleets.

The Dominix and Armageddon, though less powerful than before, still maintain considerable prowess in large fleet engagements, especially against capital ships, when they are Heavy Neutralizer fitted. While the Rokh will continue be the ship of choice for sniping fleets.

Dark clouds on the horizon

While the patch seems to have done much to increase the variety in New Eden, there is still one ship class that, according to corebloodbrothers, has become detrimental to PvP, specifically large scale one, the interceptor.

With its ability to ignore bubbles, great agility and fast warp speed, the interceptor is able to quickly gather intelligence on the enemy and escape, allowing fleets to easily bypass gate camps and hostile defense fleets, decreasing the probability of two fleets engaging each other.

Not only that, more and more roaming gangs have adopted the interceptor as their ship of choice, decreasing the ability of counter fleets to form and intercept them in time. More combat pilots prefer to remain docked rather than engage in a futile chase that most likely will end with them empty handed.

CCP has acknowledged the problem and did decrease the agility of the interceptors. However, that did not solve the situation at all. Though bubbles do slow interceptors to a certain degree, the effect can be easily cancelled out by using Micro-Warp Drives. Until a re-balance is made, the interceptor will continue to be abused as a ship for easy ganks rather than any meaningful PvP.

Bottom line

The change to drone assist can be summed up as taking the sentry fleet doctrine down a notch, yet by no means did it make it worse than the other doctrines currently in use in EVE. However, it did invariably decreased the ability of the Providence Bloc to brawl with larger, more professional power blocs, as it required less individual skill in the past. And while other doctrines, old and new, will be pursued, adapted and practiced, the Providence Bloc’s militia like attitude towards large scale PvP will mean that they will be less effective than in the hands of other power blocs.

Regardless, the staple of Providence, as corebloodbrothers put it, will remain the “Kitchen Sink” fleet, with its bizarre, often mismatched ships and random fittings. And while professional Alliances and Coalitions may look down on it, it is part of the Providence way, much like its political neutrality and tolerance of neutral entities in its sovereign space.

So the next time you fight a Providence fleet and kill a drake, check to see if it has a Salvager in its high slot, it is doctrine after all.

Some losses deserve an explanation

We all have seen some awful loss mails during our time in EVE. Whether its a titan mining in a belt, an officer fitted Raven class battleship, a rookie ship filled to the brim with PLEXs or any Phoenix class dreadnaught, these losses travel around to astound old and new players alike. They are talked about, have articles published on and become the stuff of legends, earning their pilots an entry into EVE’s hall of fame.

However, some losses don’t make it to the news. Some losses are just not expensive enough or defy common sense to be reported with a straight face. They are the kind of losses where you have to double check, look carefully for any sign of forgery, make sure that it is API verified, and then ask yourself why, just why?

This is the story of one such loss

It all started with HateMeMore, a member of The Warped Corpe, The Volition Cult Alliance, going on a solo roam. Since the Rubicon expansion, interceptor class ships have recieved an extensive upgrade, enabling them to bypass gate camps and easily escape purseurs, for HateMeMore it was love at first sight. With his trusty Crusader class intercptor, HateMeMore started making forays into deep Null Security space, roaming days at a time in search of prey. His killboard speaks volumes of his exploits.

Kitting a new Crusader for a roam, HateMeMore decided to make his way north from Y-MPWL system, setting his sights on the Spire region for new hunting grounds. Finding little prey there, HateMeMore continued with his travels, finally reaching the Cobalt Edge region, which marks the north eastern border of the New Eden sector. Warping at random to an ice belt in the YVSL-2 system, HateMeMore might have hoped to nab an unsuspecting Mackinaw pilot oblivious to intel. Instead, he found a freighter sitting contently in the middle of the belt, surrounded by cargo containers.

The Fenrir class freighter pilot didn’t make any attempts to align or move at all in the face of HateMeMore’s intrusion. In fact, it seemed completely oblivious to HateMeMore’s existence. Without a second thought, HateMeMore had the freighter tackled and started to apply damage. He was certain that it must have been a trap, a ploy to keep him busy while his friends formed up, as there were twelve more hostiles in system. And yet, as the minutes passed by, and the Fenrir entered deep into structure, nothing happened.

For fifteen minutes the Fenrir resisted the blows of the tiny Crusader, until, at last, it succumbed to its onslaught. Once freed of her ship, the pilot of the Fenrir made no attempt to save her pod, and like a good captain, went down with her ship, with the help of HateMeMore.

There are many possible explanations for said loss, from a player going AFK, to a failure to initiate fleet warp or even a weary resignation at the face of facts. However, it is safe to say that over-confidence, for once, is the most obvious contributing factor in this loss. Regardless, this makes for one impressive, if comical, kill, and a good story to boot.

Special thanks are in oder for corebloodbrothers of The Volition Cult Alliance and Fardendur of Curatores Veritatis Alliance for bringing my attention to the story, and HateMeMore of The Volition Cult Alliance for granting me the interview.

Bulletin: Patch Day

Every patch brings new features, some very unexpected, as one Capsuleer found out.

Lighting a cynosural beacon in the Sibot system, located in the Domain region, an EVE player was amazed to see not one appear, but two cynosural beacons at the same spot. Thinking it was a strange coincidence, the pilot checked his cargo hold, only to find his entire liquid ozone reserve spent. Weirder still, his cynosural generator was not cycling, even though he definitely activated it, and had two cynosural beacons as proof to boot.

 Cynosural beacon mitosis

Most people would have chucked it as a bug and moved on, maybe bothering sending CCP a bug report, but our pilot had a more inquisitive mind, and wished to see just how far the bug extended before reporting it in. Deciding that he needed to up the scale a bit, he filled a Miasmos to the brim with liquid ozone, activated his cynosural generator and result was as follows:

cyno’ing for Pandemic Legion is hard work

Well, just like any kid with a match box and the sudden realization of what he can do with it, our pilot wished to do one final test: Fit an Iteron V with cargo hold expanders, a cynosural generator, and shove as much liquid ozone into it as possible. one hundred and sixty-four cynosural beacons engulfed the Sibot station at once, creating a dazzling light show that is just beautiful to behold.

Re-enactment of the B-R5RB battle

Of course, there was an urgent need to verify whether this bug was localized, or whether it effected all cynosural beacons. An ally was called to test the theory in Providence, verifying that the anomaly was indeed, restricted only to the Sibot system.

Well, I guess I won’t get my own light show

Completing his tests, the pilot dutifully submitted his bug report, happy in the knowledge that he helped improve the game in a little bit.

A recording of the final test with the EVE Scribe reporter present

As of the time of writing, the cynosural beacons are still up and visible in the Sibot system, well past their cycle time.

Special thanks are in order for Dragoshi and Escobar of Astrum Fidelis of Apocalypse Now. Alliance, for bringing this story to my attention

Breaking News: H.E.R.O Coalition Capital Fleet Lost in N-8BZ6

With the shock waves of Darkness of Despair’s disband still subsiding, H.E.R.O Coalition continued its assault on Catch. However, it seems over confidence led H.E.R.O Coalition to deploy a small capital fleet in N-8BZ6 system in order to reinforce an AAA Citizens station, a renter Alliance of Against ALL Authorities. Their mistake was aggravated by the lack a substantial sub-capital fleet to escort said capitals. This resulted in thirteen dreadnaughts and four carriers destroyed, along with an assortment of sub-capitals who tried to rescue the tackled capitals.

The fight started by coincidence, when republicov, a Providence Block Fleet Commander belonging to the Silent Infinity Alliance, led an interceptor gang through Catch, hoping to snag a few kills. Moving through the N-8BZ6 system, one of the fleet members, Myster0816 of Curatores Veritatis Alliance, checked his directional scanner and was noticed that capital ships were showing up near the system’s station. Without a second thought, republicov ordered his fleet to warp to the station and tackle the besieging capitals, while pinging Providence for reinforcements.

The battle through republicov’s fleet’s perspective

Luckily enough, corebloodbrothers of The Volition Cult Alliance, was assembling his daily fleet. Getting reports from republicov, corebloodbrothers ordered his fleet to re-ship to heavy neutralizing battleships and assemble on a titan to bridge. PIXSE, another pilot of The Volition Cult, was told to fit a cynosural generator on an interceptor and burn to the site in order to allow the force to drop on top of the tackled capitals.

In the meanwhile, Chee Sao of Apocalypse Now. Alliance, who was part of republicov’s fleet, kept the tackled capitals bubbled with his sabre, giving corebloodbrothers the time needed to organize and bridge his fleet. In less than twenty minutes the first wave of battleship was on the field, applying heavy neutralizers and DPS on the bubbled capitals.

A recording of the early stages of the battle, just as CFC forces enter the system

The fight’s outcome, was not, by any definition of the word, clear at the time. The first wave of battleships was having a tough time breaking the capitals’ tank, and losing many of its ships. corebloodbrothers hastily organized reinforcements, only to find that his titan had run out of Strontium Clathrates to open the bridge. This led to a rather comical moment in which fuel had to be brought up and dragged to the titan. After they were done with their shenanigans, Provi-Block reinforcements bridged into the system and kept piling in, reaching one-hundred and eighty pilots, mostly in sentry ships.

At the same time, a CFC Tengu fleet have heard of the tackled capitals and burned to the system. corebloodbrothers quickly opened communications with the CFC’s FC, reaching an agreement of a temporary ceasefire in order for both fleets to focus on the tackled capitals. With the CFC reinforcements, the H.E.R.O Coalition capitals melted away, and were destroyed to the last one. A token H.E.R.O cruiser gang numbering more than fifty pilots tried to free the tackled capitals, only to end up destroyed alongside them.

Once all the capitals were destroyed, the CFC Tengu fleet extracted itself from the system, without incident, allowing Provi-Block to loot the field and return home safely. In just over an hour H.E.R.O Coalition lost five Moros, three Naglfar, two Phoenix and three Revelation class dreadnaughts, as well as three Chimera and one Archon class carriers. The damage done is valued at fifty billion ISK.

Battle Report

While Test Alliance Please Ignore has not given me any official response, Brave Collective’s PR officer, Markonius
Porkbutte, directed me to his subreddit post, where it was claimed that poor coordination, lack of consolidated communication lines, absence of a backup fleet and operational oversight caused the losses.

However, it has been claimed that a H.E.R.O Coalition reinforcement fleet was assembled and ready to bridge on a titan, only to find out the titan pilot in question was AFK. This may explain why several Provi-Block pilots saw a second H.E.R.O Coalition cynosural beacon go up, without anyone entering the system. This has not been confirmed by either side, though corebloodbrothers confessed that there were multiple cynosural beacons on the field, and he could have overlooked it.

Regardless of the outcome, many people in Providence are looking forward to H.E.R.O Coalition’s continued deployment in the region and hope for many more good fights in the future.

Special thanks are in order to JedsZero, Dragoshi Drambuie and Exclevori of Apocalypse Now. Alliance and Judiciary Pag of Curatores Veritatis Alliance for their contributions to the article, as well as corebloodbrothers, of The Volition Cult Alliance for the interview.

Update: ERVK-P Station Captured by H.E.R.O Coalition

Following the dissolution of Darkness of Despair Alliance, ERVK-P system in Catch lost sovereignty, allowing Brave Collective to claim their first system, and later station, in Catch. F9E-KX system followed shortly, and Nexus Fleet took over E-YJ8G system and station. All in all, H.E.R.O Coalition gained a foothold into Catch, with ERVK-P serving as their new staging system.

The only interruption to H.E.R.O Coalition’s take over of the ERVK-P system came in the form of a token CFC force comprised of a Zealot gang operated by Razor Alliance, and a Tengu fleet of assorted CFC entities, which Squared off against H.E.R.O’s Megathron fleet. Providence Block acted as an honorable third party and engaged both parties equally.

A clip of the battle from Provi-Block’s perspective

After a short engagement, and with mounting losses, Provi-Block’s Fleet Commander, corebloodbrothers, decided to extract the force and disengaged, rather than risk losing the whole fleet, and left the two coalition to continue fighting.

Summary of the battle

Regardless, H.E.R.O Coalition managed to get a solid foothold in Catch, whether they manage to keep it, widen it, or lose it entirely, time will tell.
